Each kit contains a chart with instructions for the bellpull, pouch and the tassel and a piece of special woven ornamental band to complete the project. Each kit shows various special stitches, techniques and feature different threads, metallic and tiny glass beads.

Chatelaine Sampler

Mostly cross stitch this sampler shows a shaded alphabet as well as traditional and modern ornaments. It can be stitched in Au Ver a Soie silks as shown, but as well in cotton embroidery threads ( conversions are given ) The piece is embellished by different special stitches, a bit of very simple pulled thread work and lots of beads and glass sew-on's. As well some bits of gold metallic are used to enhance the overall looks. You can personalize it with your own initials and the year of start ( or finishing J ) - making this a treasure and a heirloom. The size is 174 x 174 stitches - what you see here was done on a very fine 38 count linen.

Christmas Crystals

When you stitch this piece you will be enchanted by the sparkle and glitter of the many beads and crystals .... This embroidery will perform best on a black or blue fabric, but it will be very pretty as well on lighter backgrounds. You will use DMC as well as some Caron Waterlilies Mill Hill Beads and Swarovski Crystals. The design is "caleidoscopic" which has an ornamental effect when looked at from a distance :) - but if you want to take a small part only for any small embroidered piece ( like the little angel's head and one or two stars) this will be very pretty for a small gift or ornament too.

Christmas is a decorative tree,embellished all over with stars and red and golden chains of glass beads - the clear star on top is a genuine lead crystal, twinkling in all the colours of a rainbow!

Kot Garden

This design features a picture of an old - fashioned knotgarden in all it'sbeauty. The very center is a little pond surrouded by ornamental flower beds.... and outside the walls you can see topiaries in terracotta urns. You enter this magic garden through beautiful ironwork gates and then you can listen the bird's songs. On 36 count fabric this design is approximately 16" / 40 cm in sqaure.Threads used are cotton floss and "Thread Gatherer Silk'N Colors" as well as some metallic threads and a variety of beads and crystals. The crystals can be replaced by embroidery stitches for those who want to stitch this design as a cushion cover. Stitches used are cross stitch and some special stitches like Rhodes Stitch, Eyelets and Diamond Stitches to name a few.

"Polar Lights" is a sampler, composed with old motives as well with contemporary ones- it is stitched with "Weeks Dye Works" overdyed threads, one Caron Waterlilies silk and embellished to taste with small beads and snowflakes from Mill Hill...

Mainly cross stitch this chart depicts the famous Guerlain flacon "Shalimar" - a perfume which is available since the 20ies of the last century. The embroidery is embellished with gold metallic thread and a self made tassel, which is attached at the bottle's neck - just as it is at the original flacon!

The Elements, AER-AIR

This new series of four designs will depict the ancient four elements - which have been thought to be the essence of all things on earth during former times. The Alchemists named them by their Latin names : Terra ( Earth), Aer (Air), Aqua ( Water) and Ignis ( Fire) Here you can see the second of the series :"Aer" This piece is stitched on a cream linen band with silken threads from Caron Waterlilies as well as metal threads, Marlitt and a choice of beautiful beads and crystals. Besides basic cross stitch and simple Hardanger stitches a variety of other special stitches is featured in this band sampler, to give you the opportunity to explore fibers and stitches in a new project. Among them are Eyelets and combinations of straigt stitches, which give a complex pattern. A bit of Blackwork is used as well. The finished embroidery shows the appearance of "Aer" - not only in the colours of threads, but as well in the symbolism of stitches and shapes - picturing the light and invisibility of "Air" as well as the creatures like birds and butterflies.

Victorian Flowers

This design uses full cross stitches only - over two and over four threads... no backstitching ! It depicts one of those gorgeous flower arrangements which were part of interior design in the Victorian era - all assembled in a rare and precious China pot with a painting of branches and leafs. You will use DMC cotton threads and some variegated silks - and if you like you can add tiny beads for the fruits on the branches.

This is a chart using cross-stitch combined with silk ribbon embroidery and some beading to achieve the look of an old time photograph coming alive.. The soft and muted sepia tones of the cross stitch are complemented by the variegated silk ribbons and the pastel tones of beads and lace and when you finished this embroidery you will be able to imagine that beautiful lady being ready for an evening of pleasure and entertainment, looking grand in her broad-rimmed hat with a garment of lace and glittering crystals.
